Description
A beautiful and useful clambering shrub that is cherished around the world for its sticky blue flowers and cheerful exuberance. Throughout summer, a froth of round flower head - white, original pale blue to the deep Royal Cape variety - cover the bright green leaves. A lovely shrub to clamber down retaining walls, on steep, dry banks, as part of a screening shrubbery. Roots have a suckering habit, so a great choice to hold soil on banks. From the thicket region of the Eastern Cape. Water wise, evergreen, light to moderate frost, though it will recover after being cut back if frost damaged. Host plant for many butterfly species and loved by beetles.
